When I saw so many of my favorite small businesses impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic, I knew I wanted to do something. Working alongside 3 other UC Berkeley students, we founded Outhrive, a nonprofit organization that seeks to help Bay Area small businesses thrive. Outhrive connects small business to creative high school and university students to work on various pro-bono projects including marketing, technology, financial, and operational services. Through the power of social media and the internet, Outhrive has reached a global impact with participants ranging from Bay Area natives to Australia. For our summer projects, we have partnered with over 100 student fellows and 20 Bay Area small businesses.
